At BUSF, we promote donation and training projects linked to the use of emergency vehicles, essential to strengthen the response capacity of fire brigades and other institutions across Latin America.
In many Latin American countries, fire brigades and emergency institutions face severe limitations given the lack of specialist vehicles. It is virtually impossible to purchase water tankers, ladders, ambulances, boats or first response vehicles that are essential for their work given the high costs that this equipment entail. The absence of these resources severely compromises emergency response capacity.
Without firefighting vehicles, controlling fires in both urban and rural settings is a challenge that places the safety of communities at risk. Similarly, turntable ladders are indispensable in cities with high-rise buildings, where indoor fires are a constant threat. In coastal or river areas, the lack of rescue boats limits the possibility of responding quickly in cases of emergencies in water environments. The shortage of ambulances is also a critical issue, limiting the capacity to quickly and safely treat and transport victims to medical facilities. These shortcomings have a direct impact on the effectiveness of institutions and the security of the communities they serve.
